Chippy, the Daycare Pet

Grace has a new friend at daycare!

The kids have befriended a chipmunk at the house where Grace goes for daycare.  He (She?) has become increasingly brave and tame over this Autumn.  He now readily climbs up on the kids, eats out of their hands and we have to be careful to keep the front door closed or we think he will run right into the house!  He lives under the front porch and each day the kids take turns feeding him peanuts, sometimes so many turns a day Brenda and I joke that Chippy will get so fat he won't be able to get out of his hole anymore.  What fun for the kids!

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?

Halloween was great, but the Saturday morning following Halloween was priceless! Since becoming a Frozen fanatic only a couple of months ago, Grace has been waiting and waiting to make a snowman. Every day she reminds me that she "wants to make a snowman like Olaf" and every day I tell her that as soon as it snows, we will make one. Well, the forecast Friday night was calling for snow overnight so.....after a great night of trick or treating and Grace was putting on her pajamas, I explained that maybe ...if she wore her snowman pjs it would snow over night and we could make a snowman. Fast forward to Saturday morning, 5:51 to be precise. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, she bolts upright in bed and says, wide awake, " I want to build a snowman!" and that was it, our day had begun. We checked outside and sure enough, the magic worked, snow had arrived overnight!!! Grace waited impatiently until it finally got light enough to go outside. At the very first hint of light, downstairs we went to the front door. She wanted to keep her snowman pajamas on so on went the snowsuit right over top!!LOL We built out snowman, sang the song (I still can't seem to post videos on from my computer, grr!) and overall had a great morning in the new snow.  And of course after playing in the snow we had to have hot chocolate!

Look at that tongue sticking out, such concentration!

Presenting Olaf!!!!

Watching the airplane overhead.  Grace likes to keep an eye on things going on

Trick or Treat!

So now I know.  3 years old is THE PERFECT AGE for Halloween.  Grace was priceless this year.  Every house we went to it was the same script.

"Trick or treat! I am Barney."
"Thank you."
Turns toward me.
"Where we going to next Mommy?"
"Oh, we'll walk to the next house."
"We have time to get more Mommy?"
"Oh yes Grace, we can get more."
"Yeah!!!"
Every single house.
All ready to go!
