One Year Ago Today....

It was one year ago today that I wrote this post....Then I Saw Her Face....
I was finally able to put a face to my dream and know for certain that miracles really do happen.  Here is what made my day and changed my life forever on June 29, 2012

In one instant I can't believe it's already been a whole year, in another instant it feels like Grace has been a part of my life forever.
We went to Sears again today for our monthly photo shoot.  Here she is, June 29, 2013....life has never been better.

Graduation and Father's Day

Disclaimer:  Sorry I've been a little absent from blog writing this month.  It's been busy getting back to work and every night my gardens call out to me for attention.  By the time I get back in the house it's late and I'm tired and Grace is only moments from starting her nightly wake-up dance.  This post however is from a week ago.  I wrote it right after Father's Day and my nephew's graduation however I haven't been able to post photos because my card got damaged and I've had to take it in to have the photos recovered and the CD they gave me back doesn't seem to work either.  So, long story short, I've been waiting to add the photos of Grace (some really precious ones of her eating ice cream!) my nephew and my dad before posting but it looks like I won't have time to fix the photo problem for at least a few more days, so I'll add more later.  Here is just a couple that were on a different memory card.  Now the post....

Lots of family time today as we celebrated Father's Day with my dad as well as my nephew S's graduation from university.  I can hardly believe he's that old!  My nephew not my dad!!  It's such an accomplishment to finish university and to have done so well, I'm so proud of him!  The day started with pouring rain and I was afraid we were going to be inside all day but the sun came out just in time and the day turned out beautiful.
Grace was up to her usual antics, coaxing my sister into giving her piggyback rides around the grass!

She also had her first real ice cream cone all to herself!  Yummy!!!  I think she liked it, what do you think???

Grace and I had made a special gift for Grandpa out of her old rain boots.  We discovered they had a hole last week and rather than throw them out, Grace and I got crafty and made a garden decoration for Grandpa's garden.

All in all, a great day and I'm sure S. will do well in whatever lies ahead for him post-university!

Blues And Jazz Fest

Like me, Grace loves music.  I mean she LOVES music.  She would be happy if she sat on my knee all day with me singing songs to her.  So when the Blues and Jazz festival came up this weekend, even though the weather forecast called for showers off and on all weekend, I couldn't miss the opportunity to take my girl out to enjoy a little B&J.
Well, it wasn't just showers.  It was downpours.  Off and on all weekend.  There was also one big lightening storm where I wondered if we were safe under an aluminum framed tent (???).  We took cover when we had to and we braved the rain when we could. We made the best of it and she still had a great time, especially when the sun peeked out here and there.  The music was fantastic like always and Grace spent much of the time bobbing her head, shaking her arms up in the air and stamping her feet. I didn't get too many shots of her because well, as I said, it rained, but here are a few.  I can't wait till next year!

How does one fall sound asleep in the middle of a rock concert anyways??!!  They were rocking up on the stage and it was loud!

Grace knows how to make the best of a rainy situation, just find a  puddle!
